Careers In Animation

When they were mentioning about Mater is:

  • Lighting and Shading
  • Artist
  • Layout Appearances
  • Inspired by Route 66 and Mater
  • Computer Animator
  • Voice Actor
  • Person who wrote the script
  • Audio Tech
The skills of animation in high school to the real world would be a great challenge. But, it will take time to develop as high professional as the PIXAR people. If I had choice to make a animation would be something familiar as Mater. Also, in order to enter in the animation it would be cool but don't think I am ready for things as those high animators. Including, having trouble in high school animation. This may be something would be thinking about.

Tutorial--What problems I had in order not to be finished? and learned?

The problem that I had that I could not finish it is because when it said to extrude...that I did only that the 3 arrows didn't appeared...what appeared is the selecting vertices just spread out. That made things complicated because I didn't know how to fix it. This made me not continue the tutorial on Step 12.

What I learned on this tutorial is to whenever you get stuck on one step is to ask for help. Also, to really really read the instructions even though it kind of explains it weird. But, to try to understand it as possible as you can. How to use extrude + G. This is what I learned.

Insert Edge Loops Tool

Changing the settings will make the inserting edge loops in a different kind of way of looking. The new settings tools will provide the necessary for completing the task that we want to create. Such as, Multiple Edges will create all four lines that we want to put, in order to create the vents. Number of edge loops will allow you how many lines do you want to create once. Auto Complete will make only once click on the edge you want it to be and it will create.

The two tools I used to today are Append to Polygon & Split Polygon tools. Today, using the append to polygon tool we did to put the face shield (as the cover). Then using the split polygon tool we did for splitting in 3 sections of the inside shield and split vertically the shield to 8 sections. Doing that..selected vertices and click in move tool choosing the 3 points inside the shield...to make it more 3-D dimensional.

Plan of Action: How will you create it? List skill or technique?

Well I'm trying to create it by starting with a rectangle and from there try to form it. Such as, try to use somewhat the same steps from what we did in the helmet. In somethings I have to change in body size and head size will be little difficult to do. But, mostly will be using the steps that we have been learning and try form it by a rectangle shape.

What?Why?Challenge?--Friendly Dinosaur

What I picked is a dinosaur that is friendly and smiling dinosaur

Why I picked this friendly dinosaur image because, it looks pretty easy and not that difficult as the one we did with the helmet. Also, because it has some type of basic shapes and it looks pretty fun to do this image.

My biggest challenge to create this image would not be putting it in same size but, by doing it exact type of changing volumes and shapes...for example the head to the little arms or the stomach to little big legs. This is may be the challenge to create this friendly dinosaur.

  • How to bridge it and make it almost perfect
  • Fix the vertices
1 Resolution:
  • The vertices to delete some few and select the border edge tool, to keep continuing in the steps and ignore few problems.

How I helped create the Bridge from a fellow student

Fixed the mistake by deleting faces that connected to the bridge that it had problems with (old bridge). The next thing, was to select the border edge tool from the jaw. Only it had 6 lines rather than 5, so select the 6 border edge tool and the rest of the lines that needed to be select. That were the other 3 lines that connected the wall (the side of the helmet). Selecting all these lines, but there was a extra line that was needed to select, so I selected it. The rest was to just go to Edit Mesh and click the little cube of the Bridge. Then just click Bridge rather than Apply and it's done. The settings needed to be the Divisions: 0 and Smoothing Angle: 30.0000

Compare and Contrast 3D Objects

Well.... when we did the 1st project that was the temple, it was easy. Why? because the teacher lead us through all the steps and she explained where to go, where to click, and if there is a problem she will help you to fix it. The 2nd project that was doing a 3d object by our own, it was somewhat difficult. Why? because, when we got in a problem or something new that we didn't knew it was hard to fix it. Also, how to put objects that look like there touching the surface. The 3rd project that was to create by the instructions of another student. It was not difficult, because it was detailed and went every step that student did. Also, it was fast to finish in some parts. But, in all projects had a same lesson that was 3d objects.

Describe What Your Response Yesterday Looks Like.....

It will look like in the letter G it will have a player down on the floor like if he was fouled, then a another player trying to block the other player that is going for a slam dunk. The letter O is going to be the rim of a basketball basket with the basketball going in. The other letter O will be soccer player took the free kick and goalie couldn't block it because it was in the corner of the O and its a goal. The other letter G will be a soccer player giving a backflip and kicks it with his feet called "Chilena". The letter L will be the coach watching the game or kind of studying the game. The letter E will be two soccer players trying to fight for the ball in the air.

"What I'd like to do someday...."

What I'd like to do someday become a head coach of basketball or soccer team. This is my dream that I had since 9th grade..before it was to be a firefighter or cop. Those two dreams were not inspiring no more for me. Now, with this dream of being a head coach is like a motivation for me to still be in a great education and great grades in school. Even, though I haven't really had time to think which college school or high school team, to be head coach. For now, I decided to plan to be head coach for my hometown school Anthony High School. This decision is by the experience I'm going through with getting there at time, drills, and be organized. Makes me feel experience with what head coaches expect from a team, and that is what I am going to do for the team in the future I am going to coach. The inspiration that lead me to this dream was by my family, how I saw my sisters play high school basketball when I was small. Also, how the coach pushes them to succeed for the win. Including, how I get into the games and that feeling of a close game in late seconds of a 4th quarter. Made me really get into sports and became a dream for me to be a head coach basketball or soccer. The inspiration of soccer is by my friends and watching Mexican soccer league.
